Huawei MatePad T8 enables children to explore the digital world safely

The demand for affordable family tablets has increased in recent months, especially with our new reality of lockdown and isolation with homeschooling thrown into the mix. This demand is met with the new Huawei MatePad T8.

Huawei’s new budget-friendly device sports an 8-inch HD screen along with a compact design and high-performance chipset to combine portability and entertainment in one powerful device.

“Tablets are still playing a key role in the consumer electronics market for its advantages in portability and entertainment; in a way that neither a smartphone nor laptop can rival.”

The Huawei MatePad T8 is compact and slim, measuring just a tad smaller than an A5 sheet of paper and weighing only 310g. It’s easy to carry around; simply pop it into your backpack or handbag and you’re good to go.

The high 80% screen-to-body ratio on the 8-inch display ensures that no space is wasted without compromising on an immersive visual experience. The tablet is available in a beautiful Deepsea Blue finish.

Processing power and battery

The new Huawei MatePad T8 tablet is powered by an advanced octa-core chipset, coupled with a powerful battery to provide hours of uninterrupted usage, regardless of whether you’re using it for studying or watching movies.

The octa-core setup consists of four cores running at 2.0 GHz, while another four runs at 1.5GHz. This provides the perfect balance between performance and power efficiency.

In addition, the 5 100mAh long-lasting battery provides up to 12 hours of web-browsing usage on a single charge. Standard connectivity features on the tablet include Wi-Fi, LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Kids Corner

The dedicated area for children, the Kids Corner, enables parents to set a password. Kids will be able to access educational content while parents can rest assured that they’re protected from any unwanted content.

The Kids Corner also includes four eye protection modes: a blue light filter, eBook mode, posture alerts, and bumpy road alerts. The eBook mode is only available if the tablet is running EMUI or later.

EMUI10 interface

The Huawei MatePad T8 supports EMUI10 which is optimised for a more enjoyable reading experience. The upgraded user interface now boasts improved system response speeds to navigate apps seamlessly.

A Facial Unlock feature has also been included, with the facial recognition sensor located in the front camera. Simply hold the tablet to eye-level for the sensor to read the user’s face and unlock the device.
