How this fun indie game is hatching a new version

Untitled Goose Game has taken the world by storm. In fact, Untitled Goose Game, which originally started as a joke is now one of the most popular indie games out there.

And the best part? They are adding another goose!

How did ‘Untitled Goose Game’ start?

Australian development studio House House is behind Untitled Goose Game.

Its four-man team cast its single player as a lone goose on a mission to victimise the residents of an English village via a thousand mundane, misery-making ways.

Now a free update to the game which includes a new two-player mode will be released on 23 September.

This means that you can play with a friend and terrorise the village together. The game is available on all platforms and has recently been released on Nintendo and PC.

Untitled Goose Game

Untitled Goose Game began as a joke in an online chat room the developers shared. They were quickly able to acquire a mass following for the game on social media.

This was all thanks to several brilliantly funny clips showing the goose behaving badly.

What makes the game such a hit is the excellent observations it makes and its attention to detail. The ideas House House put into the game could have turned out quite differently in someone else’s hands.

The goose waddles with exactly the authentic combination of conceit and threat as it would in real life. There is a pleasure when, after terrorising a villager, you see the familiar farewell waddle and honk.

Also, this game has a lot of meme potential which adds to its huge success.

The first trailer for the game in 2017 went viral because of its ridiculous concept. And, once it was released on Nintendo Switch and PC in 2019, the game took off.

What do you actually do in the game?

It is simple: You do what any normal goose would do and terrorise people.

In Untitled Goose Game you must often tap into your darkest side and survey each new scene for potential victims. The idea is you seek to fulfill the handful of objectives the game’s authors set.

A good example of this would honking loudly and flapping your wings at a passerby. And this can be achieved with the push of a button.

The best aspect of this game is its simplicity. There is nothing more to it than just being a goose. And with the new multiplayer option, you can now have double the fun.

A goose is nothing without a community to bother, and in its dialogue-free world, the game’s villagers provide the perfect targets.

Who plays ‘Untitled Goose Game’?

Much like Goat Simulator and Death Stranding, this game follows the lives of actual geese with some added humour. And, although it sounds like it is made for children, it actually targets adults.

The game has captured the interest of top model Chrissy Teigen, and even Blink 182’s Mark Hoppus.

Their interest in the game has added to the hype around it and helped its spread across the world.

Where can I find it?

The game is now available on Steam and will be available for purchase from 23 September 2020. You can also find it available on other platforms such as Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox for around R325.

Be sure to check out this cool game that has caused so much buzz around the world. The current pandemic is the perfect time to tackle such a silly yet entertaining game.
