Sequel teaser trailer revealed for PS5

Fans of God of War were ecstatic following the release of the teaser trailer for PlayStation 5. Sony surprised everyone by giving a sneak peek at what’s to come in the franchise.

God of War’ on PS5: Here’s what you need to know

The game is titled God of War: Ragnarok. The logo is still consistent with the original logo, with Jörmungandr, the sea serpent still starting the Omega symbol. The symbol is similar to the first game symbol, but the difference is with what the Runes say.

The Mythical Ruins

The Runes that appear on the first God of War were representations of the nine realms. The new ones, however, spell Ragnorak. This change has fans coming up with their theories as to the direction of the story.

The Omega symbol is shown to be covered in ice or snow. This could be a nod to Fimbulwinter, a prophesied winter that takes place in Midgard. This could very well be another clue for the setting of the game.

‘Ragnarok’ is coming

The Santa Monica studio will develop this sequel under Sony. The story may pick up from where we last left it in the PlayStation 4 title, where we will continue to follow the story of Kratos and his son, Atreus.

Ragnarok is a time during which most of the gods will die. The earth will be submerged and then born-again. This may hint that they will most likely continue to battle gods, heroes, and villains as well as Thor.

‘God of War’ Release date

There is no other information provided beside the fact that it’s slated for a 2021 release. Sony has also decided to include the original God of War into its Playstation plus Collection so fans of the series can catch up before the release date.
