First look at the upcoming Nokia 7.3 5G smartphone [video]

Nokia will be releasing three new phones. Of those, the Nokia 7.3 will be the cheapest 5G phone. This follows just months after the release of the 8.3 5G model, released in March 2020.

The Finnish manufacturer will also be releasing the Nokia 2.4 and the Nokia 3.4. While release dates for those devices have not yet been the confirmed, the Nokia 7.3 will be unveiled in November 2020.

Queue the launch of the Nokia 6.3 and the upcoming flagship Nokia 9.3 PureView 5G model, and it’s clear to see Nokia is ready to reclaim its throne as a world leader in mobile manufacturing.

Design and appearance

A recent leak by Steve McFly, also known as OnLeaks, revealed the 7.3 model will feature a “renewed” camera model on the front and rear of the device and smaller bezel along the side.

In addition, the device’s notch will be situated at the top of the screen, along with a physical fingerprint sensor on the back of the device. The Nokia 7.3 will also sport a quad-camera setup.

Based on this information, Digital artist and creative genius, Jermaine Smit – also known as Concept Creator – made a short video of the upcoming device, in collaboration with Let’s Go Digital.

Screen and processing power

The Nokia 7.3 will feature a 6.5-inch display, which makes it a tad smaller than the Nokia 8.3’s 6.8-inch display. The phone will be powered with a Snapdragon 990 chipset and supports 6GB RAM.

While we couldn’t find any information about the camera configuration, Let’s Go Digital could confirm the specs: a 24 MP front-facing selfie camera coupled with a 48 MP wide-angle sensor on the rear of the device.

Other sensors include a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor; a 2 MP depth sensor and a 2 MP macro sensor coupled with a high-quality ZEISS lens. The device will reportedly also include Quad Pixel technology.

Battery and fast charging

The Nokia 7.3 will house a powerful 4 000 mAh battery that supports 18 W fast charging, as well as “smart Adaptive Battery technology”. Charging can be done via a USB-C slot situation on the bottom of the phone.

In addition, the 3.5mm headphone connection, integrated on the top of the phone, will set this particular device apart from its competitors; most manufacturers are moving away from the headphone jacks.
