Huawei Watch Fit now available in SA: Here’s what you need to know

The Watch Fit is Huawei’s first-ever smart sports watch and features a rounded rectangular face coupled with a variety of animated fitness courses, workout modes and scientific health tracking features.

According to Huawei, the latest addition to the family is a “wearable that understands you”. It’s hard to stand out from the crowd in today’s wearable market, however, Watch Fit’s features set it apart.

Huawei Watch Fit: Ticking all the boxes

In most cases, smartwatches today are either stylish or functional, but rarely ever both. Huawei summed it perfectly by saying a smartwatch “either looks the part, or acts the part”.

Enter the Huawei Watch Fit – a true testament to the wonders that can be achieved when style and function seamlessly merge together to unlock a whole new world of wearables.

Styles and functional

The Huawei Watch Fit has an elegant aesthetic and is described as “Huawei’s first-ever carefully proportioned square design and an all-encompassing 1.64-inch screen”. It’s a real beauty, isn’t it?

Weighing in at only 34g, it won’t wear you down either. It comes with more than 130 different styles of watch faces, meaning you can match it to any outfit; or any mood for that matter.

Long-lasting battery

The Huawei Watch Fit sports a dual-core architecture. According to the world-leading manufacturer, it can “intelligently lower battery life consumption to last for ten days”.

In addition, the smartwatch is also equipped with fast charging technology and an intelligent power-saving algorithm to adjust power consumption according to your habits and activities.

“The Huawei Watch Fit is also powered to unlock an enviable balance of performance and power consumption; all of which are bolstered by the watch’s fast-charge capabilities, allowing users to charge the device for a full day’s usage in a mere five minutes”.

Unlimited virtual trainer

Never lack for workout motivation ever again. The smartwatch has “individually tailored and animated classes that demonstrate up to 44 standard workout sequences”. That includes 11 professional and 85 regular workout modes.

Workout modes include running, walking, cycling, swimming, fitness training, dancing, ball games, water sports as well as extreme sports. You will definitely be spoilt for choice.

Lastly, Trusted Reviewer Alastair Stevenson gives the Huawei Watch Fit a four out five rating for “getting most of the basics right”. According to Stevenson, the watch packs a wealth of fitness tracking tech.

“For casual users, this makes it an appealing device that matches key competitors from the likes of Fitbit and Garmin for casual entry level athletes. […] A lack of advanced features make it a poor choice for even semi-serious runners and cyclists, however”.

The Huawei Watch Fit launched in South Africa this month, and is available from the Huawei Store for R2 999.
