Rebirth will drop just in time for spooky season
In the spirit of Spooktober, I took a look at new upcoming horror games, and Amnesia: Rebirth from Frictional Games is one I think horror gamers will appreciate.
Ahead of the launch, developers released a new story trailer that shows some of the environments gamers will get to explore. It also delivers one spine chilling tale from Salim, a survivor of the crash of the Cassandra.
‘Amnesia: Rebirth’ – Here’s what we know
Rebirth’s desert environments
The trailer takes you on a journey of Rebirth’s desert environments which is narrated by Salim. Salim’s voice will guide you through the game as you explore as Tasi; a young woman who is dealing with her own trauma.
Additionally, she is desperately trying to survive through the game’s dark and scary world and makes her way through the Algerian desert.
She also uses her logical thinking and limited resources to survive and solve puzzles. Horrifying creatures lurk at every turn; Frictional describes her journey as being “harrowing far beyond any of the studio’s past games”.

The video also highlights more backstory like the game’s 1930’s setting, as well as more information about the fates of Salim and the rest of the crew. They were stranded when their plane crash-landed in the desert, and things just turned out for the worst.
Creative Director Thomas Grip was quoted as saying that “Amnesia is not just another haunted house spook-fest, but an emotionally harrowing journey. Moreover, we aim to go beyond simple jump-scares and to affect players on a deeper level.”
