The iOS version will be available for $24.99 and includes its War of the Chosen expansion alongside the Resistance Warrior Pack, the Anarchy’s Children Pack, the Shen’s Last Gift mission, and the Alien Hunters add-on which is great value for hours of gameplay.
The game will run on any iPhone released after the iPhone X and will run on any iPad Pro released after 2017 and should become a must-have addition for any Xcom or strategy game fans looking for a new challenge.
With Apple highlighting the fact that Riot’s League of Legends Wild Rift will be coming to the iPhone 12 on in October 2020, it seems like a great time to jump into mobile gaming.
Gameplay and story
Xcom 2’s campaign will see you defend the world as the leader of the resistance trying to defeat an Alien force that has invaded Earth. The game focuses on utilising the strategy to outsmart your alien opponents while you level up your troops and improve their gear.
The game rewards quick thinking and often uses timed objectives to force the pace of the game which will force you to make difficult choices on the battlefield that could be the reason not all your troops make it home.
One of the things that make the game feel really engaging is the fact that units who die are gone forever, along with all the time you invested in them to level their skills up.
As a result, you’ll be replaying missions often to find better ways to beat levels without losing your favourite sniper in a firefight. So, if you’re looking for a top-quality PC/Console port for mobile, you should be very excited to get your hands on Xcom 2 on iOS on 5 November.
