High temperatures may affect the outcome of Kaizer Chiefs vs. Polokwane City match this Sunday

Johannesburg – The persistent heatwave might pose a challenge for Kaizer Chiefs as they head to Limpopo to face Polokwane City in a Betway Premiership match at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium this Sunday afternoon.

The match is set to kick off at 15:30.

The SA Weather Service (SAWS) forecasts that the heatwave could last for several more days, which means the Chiefs will be exposed to scorching conditions in the north – unless there’s a delay in the kick-off time.

The Glamour Boys are eager to return to their winning ways after allowing a two-goal advantage to slip away against Royal AM.

The Soweto giants netted two goals in the first half, with contributions from Ashley Du Preez and Wandile Dube.

However, Ayabulela Maxwele and Levy Mashiane responded for Royal AM, leveling the match at 2-2 and sharing the spoils.

Coach Nasreddine Nabi expressed his dissatisfaction with the outcome, attributing it to a “lack of professionalism” exhibited by some Chiefs players, which led to relinquishing their 2-0 lead.

In an effort to rectify this mistake, the Tunisian coach will need to take into account the high temperatures at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium, which the Glamour Boys are likely to face during their upcoming match.
