Ford Increases Mustang Mach-E Prices Due to Trump’s Tariffs

Ford is raising the prices of the all-electric Mustang Mach-E SUV and the popular entry-level Maverick pickup by as much as $2,000, a move attributed to the import tariffs implemented by President Donald Trump on vehicles produced in Mexico, according to Reuters.

These increased prices could pose challenges for traditional automakers like Ford as they attempt to promote their EVs. Ford has already incurred significant losses while expanding its electric vehicle program, and the situation may worsen if the $7,500 federal EV tax credit is removed, an outcome that both Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson have hinted at.

The price hikes were revealed just days after Ford announced that the tariffs would add $2.5 billion to its expenses for the remainder of 2025. General Motors projects that the impact could be as high as $5 billion.

The updated prices will apply to vehicles produced after May 2, according to Reuters. Ford has not yet responded to requests for comment.
