Spotify Upgrades AI DJ with Voice Command Capabilities

Spotify is enhancing user engagement with its AI DJ by rolling out a new update that enables users to request tracks or change the mood of playlists using voice commands. This feature is offered exclusively in English and is available for premium subscribers across more than 60 markets.

Previously, the AI DJ only provided music along with intermittent commentary. With this update, a more interactive element is introduced.

Users now have the ability to tell the AI DJ to adjust the mood or genre, or to play songs from specific artists.

To engage with the AI DJ, users can search for it and press the DJ button located in the bottom right corner to issue voice commands. For a quick mood adjustment in the playlist without making a specific request, simply tapping the DJ button will suffice.

Spotify first launched the AI DJ feature in February 2023 in the U.S. and Canada, and by August 2023, it expanded its global reach. Last year, the company also introduced a Spanish-speaking AI DJ.

Moreover, another key AI feature from Spotify enables users to create playlists based on text prompts.
