Google Unveils Image-to-Video Creation Feature for Veo 3
On Thursday, Google revealed a new feature for converting images into videos in its Veo 3 AI video generator, part of the Gemini app.
This functionality was first announced in Google’s AI video tool, Flow, which launched in May at the Google I/O developer conference.
Since its introduction in May, the video generation feature in Veo 3 has been made available in over 150 countries as of last week. Currently, video creation is limited to users subscribed to Google AI Ultra and Google AI Pro plans, who can create up to three videos daily, with no carry-over allowed.

To create a video, users can choose the “Videos” option in the tool menu of the prompt box and upload an image. They can also add audio by detailing it in the prompt. Once the video is generated, users have the option to download it or share it with others.
The company noted that over 40 million videos have been created through the Gemini app and Flow tool since their rollout seven weeks ago. Videos made with the Veo 3 model will display a visible watermark stating “Veo,” along with an invisible SynthID digital watermark, leveraged by Google’s AI to tag AI-generated content.
Earlier this year, Google also launched a tool to assist users in detecting content that contains SynthID.
