Mother Tiffany Nicole Meek Makes First Court Appearance in Jayden-Lee Meek Murder Case

Johannesburg – Tiffany Nicole Meek, 31 years old, the mother of the murdered preteen Jayden-Lee Meek, has appeared for the first time in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court.

Jayden-Lee, who was reported missing earlier, was discovered deceased on 14 May 2025, outside his mother’s home at the Swazi’s Place complex in Fleurhof.

His body reportedly showed signs of violence, with noticeable bruises suggesting he may have suffered both beating and strangulation.

The murder of the 11-year-old has profoundly impacted the community, which has been demanding justice since the tragic incident.

To the surprise of many, Jayden-Lee’s mother was the suspect arrested last week.

On Monday, 14 July 2025, the accused, Nicole Meek, was presented in court facing several charges, including murder, defeating the ends of justice, and obstructing justice.

Outside the courtroom, demonstrators shouted “Justice for Jayden.”

Many were astonished that the child’s mother was linked to this heartbreaking murder.

The court has adjourned the case until Friday, 18 July 2025, with the distressed accused remaining in custody.
