DIA Launches Skill Gallery; Perplexity to Incorporate Tasks into Comet

AI-powered browsers have not yet fulfilled their potential in effortlessly managing intricate, multi-step processes. However, developers are actively working to enhance user experiences by providing options that facilitate the repetition of common tasks.

The Dia browser, developed by The Browser Company, incorporates a skills feature that allows users to request command execution or code snippet generation based on defined prompts. For instance, users can guide the browser to look for captivating local events scheduled for the coming days. These prompts can be saved for later use and retrieved conveniently through shortcuts.

Although the community has created numerous threads and resources to assist users in discovering shared skills, The Browser Company has unveiled version 0.1 of its official skills gallery. This gallery organizes a variety of skills, enabling users to effortlessly copy prompts to expand their personal skill libraries.

Perplexity’s forthcoming browser, Comet, is also poised to roll out a similar functionality. CEO Aravind Srinivas announced that pre-defined shortcuts for repetitive tasks such as organizing tabs, preparing for meetings, or browsing trending social media topics will become available soon.

He further stated that users will also be able to create their own “Tampermonkey-like scripts” through natural language prompts for various common situations.
