Intel Sells Off Its Network and Edge Division

Intel is actively refining its operational strategy.

The firm plans to spin off its Network and Edge division, which develops chips for the telecommunications industry, as initially reported by CRN. Intel will remain a key investor in this newly independent venture, while also seeking external investment.

In May, speculation arose that Intel was looking to sell its Network and Edge division, which brought in $5.8 billion in revenue for 2024.

This strategy resembles Intel’s recent move to divest RealSense, its former stereoscopic imaging technology division, earlier this month. This spin-off took place under the guidance of former CEO Pat Gelsinger, who established the new entity with $50 million in venture funding.
