TikTok Launches YouTube Music Feature for Saving Songs from Videos

TikTok has made it easier for users to save music from video clips directly to their preferred streaming service. As of today, the short video platform has introduced YouTube Music as a new option.

Originally launched in the U.S. and U.K. in November 2023, this functionality supported Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. By February 2024, it extended to over 160 countries globally. TikTok has also incorporated Deezer and SoundCloud as additional music streaming options over time.

Users can now click the “Add Song” button located beneath the clip description, next to the track title, and select YouTube Music. They can pick their favorite music streaming service to set it as the default for saving songs, or change this preference in the “Music” menu under Settings.

Once a song is added, it will automatically populate the TikTok Songs playlist on YouTube Music.

“Add to Music App continues to deliver remarkable results for the music industry, with hundreds of millions of track saves translating into billions of streams across various music streaming services,” stated Tracy Gardner, TikTok’s Global Head of Music Business Development.
