Palo Alto Networks Set to Acquire CyberArk for $25 Billion
Cybersecurity leader Palo Alto Networks announced on Wednesday its intention to purchase identity management and security company CyberArk for $25 billion. This deal, consisting of both cash and stock, marks Palo Alto’s entry into the identity security market, as stated in a company press release.
Since Nikesh Arora took the reins as CEO and chairman in 2018, Palo Alto has actively engaged in acquisitions. The Financial Times reports that the company has spent over $7 billion on acquisitions during Arora’s tenure. The acquisition of CyberArk stands as the largest to date.
Other acquisitions made by Palo Alto include: Dig Security, valued at approximately $400 million in October 2023; Talon Cyber Security for roughly $625 million in November 2023; and Bridgecrew for $156 million in February 2021, among others.
This acquisition is one of the largest cybersecurity transactions of 2025. The biggest deal this year was Google’s acquisition of Wiz in March for $32 billion.
Palo Alto Networks has yet to issue a comment.
