SAP Acquires SmartRecruiters – Weekly Tech Highlights

On Friday, SAP announced that it has completed an agreement to acquire the recruitment software company SmartRecruiters.

In a press release, the prominent European software firm mentioned that SmartRecruiters’ “user-friendly interfaces and integrated workflows” will enhance SAP’s existing HR solutions.

Muhammad Alam, a member of SAP’s executive board responsible for product and engineering, remarked that this acquisition will allow “Customers to manage the entire candidate lifecycle—from sourcing and interviewing to onboarding and beyond—within a unified system, improving the experience for recruiters, hiring managers, and importantly, candidates.”

The financial specifics of the acquisition remain undisclosed. The deal is expected to be finalized in the fourth quarter of this year.

SmartRecruiters’ latest funding round was a $110 million Series E in 2021, which valued the company at $1.5 billion.
