Linda Yaccarino Takes the Helm as CEO of Health Tech Platform eMed After Leaving X

After her tenure as CEO at X, Linda Yaccarino will take on the role of chief executive at eMed Population Health, an AI startup focused on creating a technological platform for patients using GLP-1 medications.

Yaccarino has extensive experience in the advertising industry from her time at NBCUniversal, prior to her two-year stint as CEO at X, where she played a crucial role in revitalizing the social network’s struggling ad revenue model, even while she and Elon Musk pursued a mutual strategy of decreasing content moderation.

Although Yaccarino does not have direct expertise in health tech, eMed noted in a press release that they were drawn to her “unmatched ability to forge new partnerships,” and her prominent presence in the tech sector during her time at X brings added visibility to the startup.

Previously, eMed developed a technology platform for at-home COVID-19 rapid antigen tests, helping users accurately administer these tests. Currently, eMed is focusing on GLP-1 medications, such as Ozempic, which are used for weight management and the treatment of type II diabetes.

“To excel in today’s healthcare landscape, companies must exhibit a fearless commitment that fosters growth and the boldness to reshape an entire industry,” Yaccarino stated in a press release. “We are strategically poised to be that resolute leader, striving for our ultimate goal of improving global healthcare outcomes through our innovative services and platforms.”
