The Browser Company Launches $20 Monthly Subscription for AI-Powered Browser

The Browser Company has launched a Pro subscription for Dia, its cutting-edge web browser featuring advanced AI capabilities. At a price of $20 per month, this plan provides unlimited access to Dia’s AI-enhanced chat and skill functionalities.

With this new paid subscription, free users will experience limitations on AI features. While specific restrictions have not been made public, CEO Josh Miller informed The New York Times in July that the browser would still be free for those who utilize AI features “a few times a week.”

Miller also indicated that the company is exploring various subscription levels, ranging from $5 to several hundred dollars monthly. The current $20 option appears to be one of several plans with varying features.

Earlier this week, users on Reddit and Threads noticed that The Browser Company had quietly rolled out the Pro plan, which was swiftly removed but has since been reinstated and is now accessible via Dia’s settings menu.

The Browser Company, recognized for its earlier development of the Arc browser, has raised $128 million from multiple investors, including Pace Capital, Next Play Ventures, and notable tech personalities like LinkedIn’s Jeff Weiner, Medium’s Ev Williams, Figma’s Dylan Field, Notion’s Akshay Kothari, and GitHub’s Jason Warner. This Pro plan represents the company’s first revenue-generating subscription service.

As competition intensifies, the startup faces growing challenges in the AI-driven browser market. Notably, Perplexity’s Comet browser is gaining attention, while Opera prepares to launch its Neon browser, alongside established giants like Google and Microsoft integrating their AI assistants into their products.
