Apple’s Updated Siri Unveils Voice-Only App Management

In 2024, Apple showcased an exciting preview of an advanced Siri, designed to integrate seamlessly with various applications for gathering a wide range of information. However, the launch of this enhanced Siri is still pending, as the company seems to be encountering hurdles in its development.

As reported by Bloomberg, Apple is presently evaluating a Siri version that will perform tasks for users across multiple apps through voice commands. The aim is to release a refined version of App Intents, the framework enabling developers to allow user access to app functionalities across different systems, including search and Shortcuts.

Furthermore, Bloomberg mentioned that if this new iteration of Siri and App Intents proves successful, users could direct Siri to locate a specific photo, edit it, and share it with others; post updates on social media; or log into different services.

The company is reportedly trialing this new feature with applications such as Uber, AllTrails, Threads, Temu, Amazon, YouTube, Facebook, and WhatsApp. Moreover, it has been suggested that Apple plans to reveal a revamped version of Siri in the spring of 2026.
