Pixel 10, AI Breakthroughs, and What to Expect at the Made by Google 2025 Event

With the momentum building for the Made by Google 2025 event, the anticipation surrounding the Pixel 10 series is intensifying, set to launch ahead of the iPhone 17. Apple’s hardware event is expected in September.

The tech giant is evidently keen on expanding the Pixel lineup, likely to incorporate more generative AI features with Gemini. Made by Google is scheduled to commence at 10 a.m. PT on Wednesday.

Google introduced a slew of AI-focused enhancements during its developer conference in May, but additional Gemini functionalities are anticipated to be highlighted during the Pixel 10 event. A recent YouTube video teasing the new devices appeared to poke fun at Apple’s unfulfilled commitments regarding intelligence improvements on the iPhone.

Rumors are circulating about a feature called “Camera Coach,” which would empower Gemini to offer real-time tips for capturing better photos. This AI feature is expected to analyze the setting and suggest optimal angles and lighting for your shot.

Additionally, discussions are underway about a conversational photo editing tool that would enable users to instruct Gemini on desired modifications, such as brightening, object removal, or background alteration.

Pixel 10, 10 Pro, and 10 Pro XL

The standard Pixel 10 is expected to feature significant enhancements, particularly with a dedicated telephoto lens that was previously limited to Pro models. Following leaked images revealing the third rear lens, Google has hinted at major camera improvements for the Pixel 10.

Furthermore, all models in the series are likely to incorporate a new Tensor G5 processor, ushering in the Gemini era and enhancing performance and energy efficiency compared to the Tensor G4 chip.

Aside from these enhancements, no substantial alterations are anticipated. The overall design of the devices is expected to closely resemble that of the Pixel 9 series. The displays are likely to remain the same, with the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro featuring a 6.3-inch display, while the Pixel 10 Pro XL will boast a larger 6.8-inch display.

Improvements in camera and video quality are expected for the Pro models, along with a potential increase in battery capacity, enabling faster charging and addressing longevity concerns compared to flagship devices from Apple and Samsung.

Additionally, there are indications that the Pixel 10 series may support Qi2 wireless charging. If this holds true, it would position it among the few Android devices compatible with magnetic accessories such as chargers, wallets, and mounts. Google is also reportedly set to launch a “Pixelsnap” phone case featuring a central magnetic ring.

Pixel 10 Pro Fold

Regarding Google’s awaited foldable device, reports suggest it will have a larger cover display estimated at around 6.4 inches, alongside an 8-inch primary screen. Moreover, Google appears to be strengthening the hinge’s durability, with plans for thinner bezels for a sleeker appearance.

Another captivating rumor includes the likelihood of achieving an IP68 rating—the first for this device. (Leaked specifications indicate that this feature may indeed be included.) This rating would offer protection against dust and water, while the Pixel 9 Pro Fold provides no dust resistance.

Similar to the other Pixel 10 variants, the Pro Fold will probably be powered by the new G5 chip and equipped with the latest Gemini AI functionalities. Enhancements to the camera system are also anticipated, potentially featuring a 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, along with expected improvements in battery life.

The Pixel 10 may be available in colors like Moonstone and Jade.

The Pixel Watch and Pixel Buds

Wearables are also set to feature prominently at Google’s event, with speculation that the Pixel Watch 4 will present a bulkier design, extended battery life, and reduced bezels.

It’s also anticipated that the smartwatch will roll out new health and fitness tracking capabilities, possibly including an upgraded blood oxygen (SpO2) monitoring function.

Leaked information about the Pixel Buds 2a suggests they will be available in new colors (Fog Light, Hazel, Iris, and Strawberry), alongside features like active noise cancellation. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 are reportedly set to debut in a new Sterling hue.
