Notion Now Accessible Offline! – Tech Weekly

For years, one of the most irritating limitations of Notion was its cloud-centric approach, which made working offline difficult. The company has finally solved this problem by launching an offline mode for its applications.

As anticipated, the company revealed on Tuesday that this feature was among the top requests from users.

Users can now access, modify, and create notes without an internet connection in both Notion’s desktop and mobile apps. Furthermore, the apps enable users to download pages for offline use.

Once you reconnect to the internet, all changes made will sync automatically. However, certain functionalities, including embeds, forms, or buttons, will not work when offline.

For users subscribed to Notion’s Plus, Business, or Enterprise plans, the app will automatically download recently accessed and favorite pages for offline usage.

Users can opt-out of automatic downloads or manage them through a new “Offline” menu in the settings panel.

Ivan Zhao, the company’s CEO, mentioned in a thread on X that Notion had delayed this feature until now due to the complexities involved in the database for storing various blocks, which required developing a conflict resolution mechanism for scenarios where multiple users edit a document offline.
