Google’s AI Mode Expands Worldwide, Unveiling Exciting New Features for Users

Google has unveiled a global launch of AI Mode, a feature that allows users to ask complex questions and follow-up queries to delve deeper into Search topics. The tech giant is also upgrading this feature with innovative agentic and personalized options.

With this rollout, Google is making AI Mode available in 180 new countries, exclusively in English. Previously, it was only available to users in the U.S., U.K., and India. The company plans to introduce this feature in additional languages and regions soon.

The new agentic capabilities will enable users to use AI Mode for tasks like making restaurant reservations, and in the future, it will help them find local service appointments and purchase event tickets. Users can specify preferences for dinner reservations, such as party size, date, time, location, and type of cuisine. AI Mode will then search various reservation platforms to find real-time availability at appropriate restaurants, offering a curated selection of options.

This feature is being introduced to Google AI Ultra subscribers in the U.S. as part of the “Agentic capabilities in AI Mode” experiment run by Google Labs, the company’s experimental division. (Google AI Ultra is their premium subscription service, which is priced at $249.99 per month.)

Additionally, users involved in the AI Mode experiment in the U.S. will now receive search results tailored to their individual preferences and interests, starting with dining-related queries.

For example, if a user inquires, “I only have an hour, need a quick lunch spot, any suggestions?” AI Mode will use their previous interactions and searches on Search and Maps to deliver more relevant suggestions. If it detects a preference for Italian cuisine and outdoor seating, it will provide options that match those criteria.

Google notes that users can modify their personalization settings within their Google Account.

Moreover, AI Mode now includes features for sharing and collaborating with others. A new “Share” button allows users to send AI Mode responses to others, enhancing the collaborative experience. Google mentions this feature could be especially beneficial for group activities, such as planning trips or organizing birthday parties.
