Instagram Enables Creators to Connect Multiple Reels in a Series
Instagram has begun allowing creators to link multiple reels into a series, a feature first reported by TechCrunch. This enhancement, which is already present on TikTok, simplifies the process for viewers to follow and discover related content.
Creators can now connect videos that are part of a storytelling arc, eliminating the need for viewers to scroll or search for various segments. For instance, creators frequently encourage viewers to “return for part 2” or to keep an eye out for updates. With this capability, all associated reels can be organized, making it easier for audiences to stay updated.
Besides linking narrative segments, this feature enables creators to cluster similar videos together. For example, a creator sharing a series of fall recipes can group them for more convenient access.

Creators can link reels while adding captions or through the overflow menu on previously shared reels. Once linked, users can navigate to the subsequent reel via a new button located at the bottom left of the screen.
Instagram noted that this feature was a much-requested addition aimed at enhancing storytelling engagement and potentially increasing watch time. This might help convert casual viewers into dedicated followers.
While this update may not be revolutionary, it is indeed a valuable improvement for both creators and audiences, making it easier to find and follow content on the platform.
