Apple to Hold iPhone 17 Launch Event on September 9

Apple has announced that the launch event for the iPhone 17 will take place on Tuesday, September 9, echoing the timing from last year. The company has started sending out invitations for the event, which will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, commencing at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET.

Expected releases include one standard model and two Pro versions, with chatter suggesting that the Plus may be replaced by a new, streamlined iPhone 17 Air model. This new device is rumored to be just 5.5 mm thick and feature a 6.6-inch display, positioning the iPhone 17 Air as slightly more slender than its predecessors.

The standard iPhone 17 is projected to debut a larger 6.3-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a significant improvement from the prior 60Hz.

Alongside the iPhones, Apple is expected to announce updates for the Apple Watch Series 11, Ultra 3, and SE 3. The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is particularly anticipated to be a major advancement, featuring a bigger display and improved charging capabilities.

Additionally, the tech giant might introduce AirPods Pro 3, which marks three years since the last generation was released. These new earbuds are rumored to sport a more compact design, an upgraded chip for enhanced noise cancellation and sound processing, as well as touch-sensitive controls.
