Plaud Unveils Note Pro: An Innovative AI-Driven Notetaker Priced at $179
On Wednesday, Plaud.ai, a hardware innovator, introduced its newest physical notetaker, the Plaud AI Pro, available for $179. This launch follows two years after the initial Plaud Note and one year since the debut of the AI Pin.
For those who haven’t seen it, the Plaud Note is a sleek, credit-card-sized device that can easily attach to the back of your phone, making it possible to jot down notes during calls or face-to-face meetings.
The Note Pro maintains a design similar to its earlier model but includes a noteworthy enhancement: a 0.95-inch AMOLED screen that shows information like battery levels and recording indicators.
With a 30-hour recording capacity at standard range, the Note Pro can extend to 50 hours when using a limited range of 9.8 feet (around 3 meters) on a single charge.
The company claims the Note Pro features four MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) microphones, enhancing audio quality compared to the two microphones in its predecessor. This model captures audio from as far as 16.4 feet (almost 5 meters), doubling the range of its predecessor, while also providing improved noise cancellation and speaker detection.
In contrast to the original Note, which needed manual toggling between recording modes for calls and in-person sessions, the Note Pro boasts an automatic detection feature for effortless switching.
Plaud.ai is also upgrading its companion app with new functionalities, allowing users to take text notes on their smartphones—much like Granola—and add images, including slides.
The app update introduces “multidimensional summaries,” enabling users to extract insights in different formats, such as key takeaways or data points. The company has developed templates for these summaries, and the app can recommend the most appropriate one based on user roles. Additionally, users can create custom templates.
A new beta feature allows users to query their notes for quick access.
The Plaud Note Pro is retailing for $179 / £169, with pre-orders available beginning today and shipping scheduled for October 2025. Customers who pre-order will receive 600 complimentary transcription minutes along with a magnetic case. Users also benefit from a monthly offer of 300 free transcription minutes, with options for paid plans or one-time purchases for additional minutes.
While many other AI device manufacturers face challenges, Plaud has been thriving. Exor-backed Bee has been acquired by Amazon, while Friend has just started shipping after several delays.
Plaud reports that it has sold over a million units of its AI notetakers, with nearly 50% of users opting for the Pro plan.
