Presenting the 33 US AI Startups That Raised Over $100 Million in 2025

Last year was a pivotal moment for the AI industry in both the U.S. and internationally.

In 2024, our analysis at TechCrunch shows that 49 startups successfully completed funding rounds of over $100 million; three of these startups secured multiple “mega-rounds,” while seven companies raised more than $1 billion.

What does 2025 have in store for us? As we near the end of the third quarter, the growth trend from 2024 seems likely to continue. The current year has already witnessed several billion-dollar rounds, with many firms achieving multiple mega-rounds.

Below is the list of U.S. AI companies that have raised $100 million so far this year:

August

  • The healthcare and housing automation platform EliseAI secured $250 million in a Series E funding round, giving the startup a valuation of $2.2 billion. This round, announced on August 20, was led by Andreessen Horowitz.
  • Decart, an AI research lab, raised $100 million at a valuation of $3.1 billion. This funding round, announced on August 7, saw contributions from Sequoia Capital, Benchmark, and Zeev Ventures, among others.

July

  • The generative media platform Fal completed a $125 million Series C round led by Meritech Capital Partners. Announced on July 31, this funding values Fal at $1.5 billion, with participation from Salesforce Ventures, Shopify Ventures, Google AI Futures Fund, and others.
  • Five-year-old Ambience Healthcare, which is building an AI healthcare operating system, raised $243 million in a Series C round led by Oak HC/FT and Andreessen Horowitz. Other contributors included Kleiner Perkins, OpenAI Startup Fund, and Smash Capital, among others.
  • Reka AI, an AI research laboratory, secured $110 million in a round featuring Snowflake and Nvidia. Announced on July 22, the Series B round values the company at $1 billion.
  • AI research lab Thinking Machines Lab confirmed a substantial $2 billion seed round on July 15, led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Nvidia, Accel, AMD, and others, valuing the company at $12 billion.
  • Located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, OpenEvidence raised $210 million in a Series B round at a valuation of $3.5 billion, announced on July 15, co-led by Kleiner Perkins and GV.
  • Harmonic, which is developing a mathematical reasoning engine, secured $100 million in a Series B round led by Kleiner Perkins, announced on July 10, valuing the company at $875 million.

June

  • Healthcare AI unicorn Abridge announced a $300 million Series E round, valuing the company at $5.3 billion. This round was led by Andreessen Horowitz with support from Khosla Ventures. It marks the company’s second round in 2025.
  • Harvey, creating AI tools for the legal industry, announced its second $300 million round for 2025 on June 23. Co-led by Kleiner Perkins and Coatue, this latest Series E round increases the company’s valuation to $5 billion.
  • Healthcare AI startup Tennr revealed it raised $101 million in a Series C round led by IVP, with participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners, GV, and Andreessen Horowitz, among others. This round values the company at $605 million.
  • The enterprise search startup Glean maintained its funding momentum, announcing a $150 million Series F round on June 10, led by Wellington Management, with contributions from Sequoia, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Kleiner Perkins. Glean’s valuation is now $7.25 billion.
  • Anysphere, the AI lab behind the coding tool Cursor, raised an impressive $900 million Series C round, valuing the company at nearly $10 billion. This funding was spearheaded by Thrive Capital, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Accel, and DST Global.

May

  • AI data labeling startup Snorkel AI announced a $100 million Series D round on May 29, valuing the company at $1.3 billion. This round was led by Addition with support from Prosperity7 Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Greylock.
  • LMArena, a renowned, community-driven benchmarking tool for AI models, secured a $100 million seed round, valuing the startup at $600 million. This funding, announced on May 21, was co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and UC Investments, with contributions from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Kleiner Perkins, and Felicis, among others.
  • Las Vegas-based AI infrastructure company TensorWave announced a $100 million Series A round on May 14, co-led by Magnetar Capital and AMD Ventures, with participation from Prosperity7 Ventures, Nexus Venture Partners, and Maverick Silicon.

April

  • SandboxAQ closed a $450 million Series E round on April 4, valuing the AI model firm at $5.7 billion. Participants included Nvidia, Google, and Ray Dalio, founder of Bridgewater Associates.
  • Runway, which is developing AI models for media production, raised a $308 million Series D round announced on April 3, valuing the company at $3 billion. The funding was led by General Atlantic, with contributions from SoftBank, Nvidia, and Fidelity.

March

  • AI leader OpenAI secured an unprecedented $40 billion funding round, valuing the startup at $300 billion. This round, which closed on March 31, was led by SoftBank, with participation from Thrive Capital, Microsoft, and Coatue, among others.
  • On March 25, Nexthop AI, an AI infrastructure company, announced a Series A round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. The $110 million round also included contributions from Kleiner Perkins, Battery Ventures, and Emergent Ventures.
  • Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Insilico Medicine completed a $110 million Series E round announced on March 13, valuing its generative AI-powered drug discovery platform at $1 billion. This funding was co-led by Value Partners and Pudong Chuangtou.
  • AI infrastructure firm Celestial AI raised a $250 million Series C round, valuing the company at $2.5 billion. This round, announced on March 11, was led by Fidelity, with participation from Tiger Global, BlackRock, and Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan.
  • Lila Sciences secured $200 million in a seed round aimed at developing a science superintelligence platform. Led by Flagship Pioneering, this round included participation from March Capital, General Catalyst, and ARK Venture Fund, among others.
  • Brooklyn-based Reflection.Ai, which seeks to build superintelligent autonomous systems, raised $130 million in a Series A round, giving the one-year-old company a valuation of $580 million. The funding was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and CRV.
  • AI coding startup Turing closed a Series E round on March 7, which valued the startup at $2.2 billion. This $111 million round was led by Khazanah Nasional, with contributions from WestBridge Capital, Gaingels, and Sozo Ventures.
  • Shield AI, specializing in defense technology, raised $240 million in a Series F round that closed on March 6. Co-led by L3Harris Technologies and Hanwha Aerospace, this round also saw participation from Andreessen Horowitz and the US Innovative Technology Fund, valuing the company at $5.3 billion.
  • AI research and LLM company Anthropic raised $3.5 billion in a Series E round, bringing the startup’s valuation to $61.5 billion. This round was announced on March 3 and led by Lightspeed, with participation from Salesforce Ventures, Menlo Ventures, and General Catalyst, among others.

February

  • Together AI, focused on open-source generative AI and model development infrastructure, raised a $305 million Series B round that valued the company at $3.3 billion. This round, announced on February 20, was co-led by Prosperity7 and General Catalyst, with support from Salesforce Ventures, Nvidia, Lux Capital, and others.
  • The AI infrastructure firm Lambda completed a $480 million Series D round announced on February 19, valuing the startup at nearly $2.5 billion. This round was co-led by SGW and Andra Capital, with contributions from Nvidia, G Squared, ARK Invest, and others.
  • Abridge, an AI platform for transcribing patient-clinician conversations, was valued at $2.75 billion in a Series D round announced on February 17. The $250 million round was co-led by IVP and Elad Gil, with participation from Lightspeed, Redpoint, and Spark Capital, among others.
  • Eudia, an AI legal tech startup, raised $105 million in a Series A round led by General Catalyst. Floodgate, Defy Ventures, and Everywhere Ventures participated, alongside various VC firms and numerous angel investors. This round closed on February 13.
  • The AI hardware company EnCharge AI raised a $100 million Series B round that also concluded on February 13. This round was led by Tiger Global, with participation from Scout Ventures, Samsung Ventures, and RTX Ventures. Founded in 2022, this Santa Clara-based company is achieving significant progress.
  • The AI legal tech firm Harvey secured a $300 million Series D round, giving the three-year-old company a valuation of $3 billion. Led by Sequoia, this round, announced on February 12, involved the OpenAI Startup Fund, Kleiner Perkins, Elad Gil, and others.

January

  • The synthetic voice startup ElevenLabs raised a $180 million Series C round, valuing the company at over $3 billion. Announced on January 30, this round was co-led by ICONIQ Growth and Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Sequoia, NEA, Salesforce Ventures, and others.
  • Hippocratic AI, concentrated on creating large language models for healthcare, announced a $141 million Series B round on January 9. This round valued the company at over $1.6 billion and was led by Kleiner Perkins, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Nvidia, and General Catalyst.
