HBAR Price Faces Potential Decline Amidst Concerning Trend in Hedera Development

HBAR has undergone a notable decline over the past two weeks, entering a bear market, with alarming indicators suggesting that further declines could be on the horizon.

Overview

  • Technical analysis indicates a bearish breakout in Hedera’s price movement.
  • A significant descending triangle has formed.
  • Strong fundamentals could potentially soften the bearish outlook.

As of August 31, Hedera (HBAR) is trading at $0.2243, reflecting a 26% decline from its peak this year, marking the lowest price seen since July 13.

Technical Analysis Indicates HBAR Price Decline

The daily chart reveals a downtrend for HBAR over the recent weeks, falling from a high of $0.3020 in August to $0.2232.

HBAR has dropped below the 50-day Exponential Moving Average, signaling a bearish trend. A descending triangle has developed, featuring horizontal support at $0.2257 and a downward slope.

This support level coincides with the upper trading range of the Murrey Math Lines. The Relative Strength Index has also slipped below the neutral zone of 50, while the MACD indicator has crossed the zero line.

Consequently, expectations are that prices may continue to decline, with the next critical level to monitor being the psychological target of $0.10, implying a further 55% drop from the current price.

On the other hand, should HBAR break above the upper side of the triangle, it would negate the bearish outlook and could result in potential gains, possibly reaching the important resistance level of $0.30.

Key Factors for Hedera That Could Alleviate Bearish Trends

Despite the bearish technical indicators, several fundamental factors may enhance Hedera’s performance. A key factor is the anticipated approval of the spot HBAR ETF by Grayscale by the Securities and Exchange Commission, which could draw additional investor interest from the U.S.

Additionally, HBAR stands to benefit from its expanding role in the stablecoin market. Recent data from DeFi Llama indicates that the stablecoin supply on the network has increased by 50% over the past week, reaching $127 million.

A flourishing stablecoin ecosystem is advantageous, as analysts believe it could revolutionize the payments sector. Hedera has claimed to be among the most efficient networks for stablecoin transactions, providing nearly instant processing, competitive fees, and a flat gas fee of around $0.001, regardless of transaction size.

Hedera is also intensifying its efforts on tokenizing real-world assets. A new partnership with Swarm has been announced, which will leverage Hedera’s technology to offer tokenized stocks on its platform.
