Kash Patel’s Clothing Brand Website Goes Offline Amid Hacking Allegations

The merchandise site of FBI director Kash Patel was taken offline on Friday after reports emerged of a hacker breach that sought to infect visitors with malware, as initially reported by Straight Arrow News.

Currently, the Based Apparel website is unavailable. On Thursday, a Twitter user named Debbie raised concerns that the brand’s site seemed to harbor malware, specifically an infostealer—malicious software designed to compromise victims and capture their credentials and passwords. A security researcher subsequently assessed the malware.

Based Apparel has yet to respond to requests for comment. TechCrunch reached out via an old Gmail account associated with Patel, but we have not received a response.

This week has been notably troubling for security issues concerning MAGA-related business endeavors.

On Friday, the cellphone provider for President Trump, Trump Mobile, acknowledged a breach that exposed customers’ personal information online, including names, email addresses, mailing addresses, cell phone numbers, and order details. This admission came after a researcher alerted two YouTubers who purchased Trump Mobile’s phones about their exposed personal information.
