What to Expect at WWDC 2026: Major Siri Revamp and Upgrades in Apple Intelligence

As the countdown begins for Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference, WWDC 2026, excitement is building for Apple’s forthcoming innovations. From a refreshed Siri to advancements in Apple Intelligence, this year promises to deliver a lot of thrilling updates.

Siri’s major AI overhaul

A key highlight of the event is likely to be a significant AI upgrade for Siri, transforming it into a more conversational assistant capable of understanding context, handling multi-step tasks, and seamlessly interacting across various apps and services. The updated Siri will leverage Google’s Gemini technology to enhance its capabilities.

Moreover, recent reports from Bloomberg indicate a standalone Siri app designed to compete with advanced AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. Apple may also introduce a feature akin to messaging apps, enabling users to set timers for automatically deleting conversations after 30 days, a year, or keeping them indefinitely.

A new “Visual Intelligence” feature is set to launch within the Camera app, taking the place of the previous Visual Intelligence feature in the Camera Control button. The Visual Intelligence feature will harness Google Image Search to accurately identify objects in users’ photos.
