Meta Unveils Pocket: A Vibe-Centric Gaming App

Meta has entered the gaming market with its new app, Pocket, which allows users to create small, interactive applications and games using AI prompts. This software, resulting from Meta’s acquisition of the Gizmo team—known for vibe-coded gaming—aims to be “a creative platform for making and sharing gizmos,” a term for these interactive experiences. It also includes a scrollable feed where users can interact with gizmos made by others.

Screenshots from Google Play show that Pocket shares several features with the original Gizmo app, which is still available. Like Pocket, Gizmo enables users to craft interactive experiences using written AI prompts, accompanied by a discovery feed.

Alessandro Paluzzi, a reverse engineer and known for uncovering new apps and features, highlighted the app’s release this morning by sharing a Play Store screenshot on X. According to data from app intelligence provider Appfigures, Pocket was officially launched on June 29, 2026, on both the App Store and Google Play. Due to its recent launch, the company has yet to confirm the number of downloads it has achieved.

Other outlets, including Business Insider and Investing.com, have reported on Paluzzi’s findings. Meta has not yet responded to requests for comment.

Pocket represents Meta’s continued investment in making AI creation tools mainstream, building on earlier efforts like AI-generated images through the Meta AI app and AI videos with an app called Vibes. The company has been working on integrating AI features across its social platforms and into its video-editing tool for creators, Edits.

Since Meta has not officially announced Pocket’s launch, it is likely still in the experimental phase.

In contrast, its counterpart Gizmo reports a total of 635,000 installs across iOS and Android platforms, as per Appfigures, which also noted a 98% positive sentiment.
