Residents are encouraged to practice the following water-saving techniques as part of their daily routines:
• Avoid watering or irrigating gardens with hoses or sprinklers between 06:00 and 18:00.
• Refrain from washing cars with hosepipes.
• Do not fill swimming pools. Residents are also advised to continue using grey water for watering gardens and flushing toilets.
Where applicable, the installation of water-saving devices is recommended.
Residents should integrate water conservation into their everyday routines with the following suggestions:
• Install low-flow showerheads and tap aerators where feasible. • Use dual-flush toilets.
• Choose indigenous or drought-resistant plants for landscaping.
• Use a broom instead of a hosepipe to clean driveways or patios.
• Collect rainwater for use in gardens or car washing.
• Cover swimming pools to reduce water evaporation.
• Take shorter showers rather than baths.
• Turn off taps while brushing teeth or shaving.
• Regularly check for leaks in taps and toilets.
