Elon Musk Settles $128 Million Lawsuit with Former Twitter Executives
Elon Musk has come to a settlement in a $128 million lawsuit involving four Twitter executives he terminated after acquiring the company in 2022.
One of Musk’s first moves following his takeover of Twitter was to fire CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal, along with key lawyers Sean Edgett and Vijaya Gadde. These four individuals did not receive any severance packages, which they attribute to their efforts to hold Musk accountable for his $44 billion acquisition pledge when he attempted to withdraw from the agreement. The lawsuit cites Walter Isaacson’s biography of Musk, which reportedly includes a quote where he mentions wanting to “hunt every single one” of Twitter’s C-suite “till the day they die.”
While a court document confirms that the parties have agreed to a settlement, details about the terms have not been made public.
This isn’t the first time Musk has encountered legal challenges related to severance payments. He recently settled a class action lawsuit concerning 6,000 laid-off Twitter employees, many of whom reported receiving insufficient severance packages or none at all.
