Get Ready for a Calm and Productive Workspace Tomorrow!

As technology progresses rapidly, what transformations should we expect in our workplaces? A recent article from the Wall Street Journal examines the increasing adoption of dictation tools like Wispr, especially when paired with vibe coding solutions, and their impact on workplace culture.

An investor remarked that today’s startup settings are beginning to mirror advanced call centers. In contrast, Gusto co-founder Edward Kim suggested that future office designs might capture the vibrant energy of an active sales environment. (My first reaction was: Oh dear.)

Kim admitted that he types only when absolutely necessary, acknowledging that depending on dictation at work might be perceived as “somewhat unorthodox.”

In another instance, AI entrepreneur Mollie Amkraut Mueller relayed her husband’s growing frustration with her habit of speaking softly to her computer—this disruption affects their late-night work sessions, often leading to them working separately, particularly in their home office.

Nonetheless, Wispr founder Tanay Kothari remains optimistic that such behaviors will soon be considered “normal,” akin to our acceptance of smartphones.
